The Department of State’s Bureau of Counterterrorism (CT) announces this funding opportunity to strengthen Iraq’s anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) regime through targeted training and technical assistance.
This program should deliver concrete returns for American taxpayers by disrupting the financial networks of Iran, its proxy groups, and other U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organizations (FTOs), which exploit Iraq’s financial system to fund destabilizing activities and attacks against U.S. facilities, personnel, and interests in the region.
