About this opportunity

The purpose of this program is to support American Indian and Alaska Native tribes in planning and developing a comprehensive, community-based system of care (SOC).

A SOC is defined as a coordinated network of effective mental health and essential supportive services organized to address and meet the varied needs of children, youth, and young adults (birth through age 25), and their families. The SOC approach strives to ensure that mental health services are family-driven and youth-guided, and community-based.

Who can apply

Eligibility is limited to Federally recognized American Indian/Alaska Native tribes and tribal organizations; Urban Indian Organizations; or consortia of tribes or tribal organizations.
